How to Start Air Bubble Sheet Making Manufacturing Business in 8 Steps

Air bubble sheet making with other allied products is a profitable venture in the packaging industry. Apart from the sheet, you can make air bubble rolls, air bubble bags, and air bubble films according to your client’s requirements.

Air Bubble Wrap Sheets, a flexible and transparent plastic sheeting containing numerous small air pockets. The sheets offer cushion and scratch protection far superior to packing paper and are used to protect items during shipping and storage.

Air bubble polyethylene film is preferred over expanded polystyrene because it is cost-effective. The resiliency of air bubble film is much higher than expanded polystyrene and the ultimate volume of the package is much lower if air bubble film is used.

It is most suitable for packaging light fragile items, sophisticated electronic goods, calculators, etc. Air bubble wrap is lightweight, water-resistant, reusable on scratching, and is used for packing fragile items. It can be used to cushion medium to heavyweight products.

Air bubble film is a two-layer laminated low-density polyethylene film with entrapped air inside, between the two layers in bubble form in some orderly fashion. Air bubbles render cushioning effect. The bubbles may be of different sizes. The size of the bubble and thickness of the film is decided to depend upon the end-use of the type and weight of content to be packed.

3. Air Bubble Sheet Making Manufacturing Process

LDPE granules fed into the hoppers of 100 mm and 75mm extruders respectively pass through the extruders, where they are melted, plasticized, and forced through the 2-layer nips of T-die. In the die, two layers of LDPE sheets of the required thickness are formed simultaneously.

These two layers are passed through two silicon synthetic cooling rollers where air bubbles are thermoformed over one roller and simultaneously it is laminated by forcing another layer by pressure.

At this point, vacuum forming of the bubble, cooling of the outer surface of both layers and lamination of a thermoformed layer on the secondary layer occur simultaneously. Then the formed layers are cooled and moved forward trimmed and finally to the winder through take-off rollers and then to the winder.

You can also make the bubble into 2-layer bubble film, 3 layers bubble film, 5 layers bubble film, and other multilayer bubble film. Air bubble sheet making is also possible in different colors.

4. Create a Business Plan

Before actually jumping into starting a bubble sheet manufacturing business, it is essential to write a project plan document. Furthermore, if you are looking for funds, it is advised to create a business project plan by hiring competent plan writers and accountants.
