In starting lemonade, production entrepreneurs must register the business with ROC according to the desired ownership pattern of the company.

You need to obtain a Trade License and SSI Registration from the local authority. Soft drink industries are granted a license under the Fruit Products Order, 1955, which is a statutory Order issued under the Essential Commodities Act,1955, and is administered by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.

Under this Order, a license is granted to the manufacturers of fruit products covered under FPO, 1955. Compliance under the PFA Act is mandatory. For quality control and standard, BIS specification is a must in lemonade production.

At present GST Registration is a must.

3. Lemonade Manufacturing Unit Setup

In starting lemonade production, it is advisable to have a customized project report prior. It is tremendously beneficial in establishing any industry as such.

It will help you in selecting the right machinery, figuring out the financial requirement, and also in finance arrangements from the bank or any financial institution.

6. Lemonade Manufacturing Process

First of all, prepare the sugar syrup by dissolving sugar in water. Then mix the citric acid, preservatives, flavors, and other ingredients in a definite proportion by agitating. Stir the mixture until these ingredients disperse and you obtain a homogeneous mix.

Then, cool the mix to the desired temperature and dissolve the carbon dioxide gas in it. Finally, fill the diluted mix in pet bottles, seal it, and pack it in plastic crates.

The cost of a small-scale lemonade or Nimbu Pani-making manufacturing business will cost you in the range of Rs. 5 Lacs to Rs. 10 Lacs depending on the factory rent cost, and the quality of machinery purchased. However, for a larger scale, the investment will be Rs. 25 Lacs onwards.
