Infosys Opens ₹32 Crore Tech Development Centre in GIFT City, Gandhinagar

Infosys, a global IT and consulting firm, has opened a new development centre in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), Gandhinagar. The centre was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel in the presence of Infosys Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka and other senior officials.

Focus on Financial Technology

The new centre will focus on digital transformation services for banking and financial institutions. It will support areas like digital banking, capital markets, regulatory technology, risk management, payments, and trade finance. Infosys plans to use advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, generative AI, blockchain, cloud computing, and cybersecurity at the facility.

Space for Over 1,000 Employees

The centre is designed to accommodate more than 1,000 professionals. It will follow a hybrid work model, allowing employees to work both from the office and remotely. Infosys aims to attract top tech talent and foster innovation through this flexible setup.

₹32 Crore Investment

Infosys has invested ₹32 crore in this new facility. The office has been designed with sustainability in mind, featuring energy-efficient systems, daylight harvesting, and smart building technologies. The development reflects Infosys’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

Strong Support from the Government

Speaking at the event, CM Bhupendrabhai Patel said that Infosys’s presence in GIFT City shows the growing strength of Gujarat as a hub for digital and financial innovation. He emphasised the state’s vision to become a global leader in sectors like AI, semiconductors, and electronics.

Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka said that the new centre will help the company deliver cutting-edge solutions to global financial clients. He also highlighted the importance of GIFT City’s ecosystem in supporting innovation and business growth.

Boost for GIFT City’s Ecosystem

The opening of the Infosys centre adds to the growing list of major companies operating in GIFT City, including Wipro, Cognizant, Google, and Bank of America. The area is fast becoming a key destination for tech and financial services companies.

Infosys’s new centre is expected to bring more job opportunities and boost the fintech ecosystem in Gujarat. It will also help position GIFT City as a global hub for financial technology development.
