An agri-business investors camp would be held on June 12 at Hyderabad to be hosted by International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).
The camp, which is oriented around three themes – agri-technology, agri-engineering and food processing – would provide an opportunity to present their ideas/ prototypes for individual advice. Whether a farmer with an idea, a businessperson or a student —anyone can bring their ideas for help in scaling-up.
The aim of the agri-business investors camp is to encourage and identify early-stage startups that have the potential to become scalable and competitive food and agribusiness ventures.
“The camp is targeted at the Indian start-up entrepreneurs and innovators in the agricultural sector and will serve as an ideal platform to present business ideas and models to secure additional funding support of up to Rs one crore and to scale-up,” said S M Karuppanchetty, Chief Operating Officer of Agri-Business Incubation programme. As part of the ICRISAT-ABI programme, incubation support would be offered to selected entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, he said.
The agri-business investors camp is an initiative of the ICRISAT-ABI programme of the Agribusiness & Innovation Platform, which aims to enhance public-private partnerships as a model for fostering agri businesses to bring research for development innovations of ICRISAT and its partners to the market for faster and wider impact, the statement added.
